The Difference between Engagement Rings and Wedding Rings
Some people use the term engagement rings and wedding rings interchangeably but there are some differences between the two.
Timing: An engagement ring is presented to a woman during the proposal. Wedding rings are exchanged during a ceremony and are worn after marriage.
Design: Engagement rings are usually more extravagant and have a center stone. Wedding rings have a simpler design.
When buying an engagement ring, you can also buy the wedding ring at the same time if you are sure that she will say yes to the proposal. If you buy a matching set, the rings will display a consistent appearance. However, there are no hard and fast rules about matching the rings. Many married women wear both their engagement ring and wedding band together but some only prefer to wear the wedding ring. Some people don’t wear both rings since they don’t look good together so this is why it’s best to make sure the wedding ring and engagement ring will complement each other.
